First iPhone/iPod IM apps to support push notifications

Not long ago I was talking about the new iPhone 3.0 software and the benefits of upgrading to it. Sure, with new features comes more battery hunger and slower overall usage ,but keep in mind, IPhone 3.0 was developed with the new iPhone 3GS hardware in mind, not the old 3G one. As some of you know , I already restored 3 times and managed to lock the whole software to snail-speed; but that’s for another time.
Now, the applications i use with push notifications support areBeejiveIM and IM+
To be sincere , i used BeejiveIM for some time and i found it better then IM+ in some ways, but let me tell you the latest IM+ is much more stable and reliable. BeejiveIM was good, but they ruined it , I don’t know if it’s only me, but it crashes when I want to delete an account , it crashes when i log in with a big account, it disconnects random and does not stay on even after setting 24 hours. it feels bad so to speak.
IM+ supports push notifications from last night , the updated version 3.1 that is . It’s not so complex in options as BeejiveIM but it does what it should do and does not crash and hang or any other surprise.
Both applications are payed, IM+ has a free version that is add supported , BeejiveIM is only for pay.
I sure hope the guys over at BeejiveIM get they things together again, this was a fast and “not so good” release.

As you all know, some time ago apple showed a nice device that you plug into a TV and you have access to the FrontRow interface from OSX, with small improvements and capabilities over the mac version. All went fine and well, but the device never got the public’s attention. It just silently died along
Opera Mini for iPhone approved

This was a nice surprise from the folks at Apple, the Opera Mini browser for iPhone has been approved and it’s available now in the app store for free HERE. My first thought about this piece of software was that it will never see the app store, Apple tends to reject apps that “mimic the phone’s

Not long ago the GPRS technology was the fastest out there when related to a mobile device using a carrier. 3G really got mainstream in the last years and as the reliability went up and coverage got better, the cost got lower bringing the whole idea of mobile Internet affordable for the most of the

One of the world’s most used IM software is the client from Microsoft, Windows Live Messenger, known as MSN messenger too. The idea of instant message is to have a simple, secure, and clean user interface at both ends, but still support for collaboration and entertainment. The next version of WLM is the Live Messenger

Google’s try to win the mobile market with the Android OS was a partial success but to remain realistic, the effort mostly failed. It’s even hard to compare the support and applications available on the iPhone platform vs. Google’s Android platform even now after some time from Android OS release date. Nexus One is the

A new firmware is now available for the iPhone and iPod touch. The new update is all about bug fixes and security, as Apple states on it’s info page regarding this update. If you watched Apple’s keynote presented by Steve Jobs, i think you sense a little what I’m making fun of here, if not, it’s still damn funny to hear Steve Jobs and the developers at apple talk so nice and beautiful about a device that’s not even in the market, but hey, i already said
iPhone 3GS , the path to Romania

Like every product, Romania seams to be the last country or between the last countries to get the new iPhone. From what i heard, the single official iPhone vendor, Orange Romania, will bring the hard to get, 4300 RON device to their subscribers and/or pre-pay services after July 31 . It’s sad to think about
