The day is here, Apple just announced the tablet device, the name is “iPad” and the idea is to have a tablet device, easy to use, slim, fast, that will be somewhere between the macbook and the mobile iPhone/iPod touch.

Some info about the device:

  • 0.5″ thin
  • Weighs 1.5 pounds
  • 9.7″ IPS display
  • 1GHz Apple A4 processor
  • 16, 32, or 64GB of flash storage
  • 802.11n, WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.1
  • 10 hours battery life

The device will be available in 2 weeks time for the WiFi only version and 3 weeks for the WiFi and 3G, and the prices are as following:

  • 16GB WiFi only $499, WiFi + 3G $629
  • 32GB WiFi only $599, WiFi + 3G $729
  • 64GB WiFi only $699, WiFi + 3G $829

I will post more info on this products, but i’m starting to feel that, once again, the technology is on the right path of the future, this kind of products are truly amazing, and i’ll get one of those iPads when i’ll get the opportunity.

The iPad SDK is also available from apple, even if all the applications in the app store are compatible, why not take advantage of the bigger screen of the iPad.

I’m starting to count the days to get this one !!!
